Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is an autologous concentration of human platelets in a small volume of plasma. These platelets consist of many growth factors such as vascular endothelial cell growth factor (VEGF), platelet derived growth factor (PDGF) among others, which help in faster healing of soft tissue like hair and skin regeneration. The growth factors that are released from the platelets play a role in proliferation of cells and remodelling of the tissue. Procedure Blood is collected and processed for extraction of Growth Factors. The Growth Factors are then injected into the patient’s scalp. With a thin needle, your own Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is injected into the scalp. Then the growth factors in your blood cells do their job and hair growth is naturally stimulated. We have been performing PRP therapy as a proactive therapeutic option for male and female patients experiencing hair loss.PRP is an exciting non-surgical therapeutic option for patients who require stimulation of hair growth for hair loss conditions Advantages of PRP Therapy are: Simple, non surgical procedure Safe and reliable results Very quick. How do you perform the procedure?

1.) Blood is collected as though you are having routine blood testing at your primary care physician’s office.

2.) The blood is spun in a centrifuge and the PRP is separated and removed from the rest of the blood.

3.) The PRP is taken from your body and is specially prepared by spinning down the blood cells to a high concentration.

4.) After centrifugation, the platelets and other vital growth proteins raise to the top of the tube.

5.) The highly concentrated platelet rich plasma (PRP) is then injected into the scalp where hair loss is being experienced

Some patient’s chose to have PRP performed every three (3) to four (4) months as early data suggests regular or semiannual PRP treatments can stimulate hair growth.
